Have Your Independent Reading Book Finished By: November 17th



Step 1: - November 13th

Slide 1: Who group of people does your independent reading focus on? (Make sure that your FULL name, date, and period
Slide 2: Historically speaking, what have been some of their goals?
Slide 3: What specific obstacles did they face in the past? Why?
Slide 4: What specific obstacles do they currently face?  Why?
Slide 5: What are/ were their achievements to date?


  • Each slide should be 3-5 bullets -
    • Do not copy and paste.  
    • Do not write paragraphs
    • Each bullet should be phrases/a sentence.
    • Remember the purpose of the bullets should be so that your peers can follow along your presentation and to provide you with guided notes
  • Each slide should include a picture
  • When you present, please explain WHY you gravitated toward this book or group of people
  • Explain briefly how the the main character(s) of this book reflects the American Dream, their struggles and how he/she/they overcome them

  • You will have November 6th to work on this in class
